FUTURE ADVERTISING EXECUTIVE. JUGGLING WORDS AT MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY.
Hello there! I'm V,
I've always been drawn to leadership roles. From steering the editorial ship as the Editor-In-Chief of my high school publication to serving as Vice President of the Owen Graduates Association at Michigan State University, I've thrived in positions that require vision, organization, and teamwork. Currently, I'm pursuing my passion for advertising as an Advertising Management major with a perfect 4.0 GPA at Michigan State. In addition to these roles, I am now the Administrative Student Employee for the Infrastructure and Planning Facilities, Office of the President, and the Founder and President of the Creative Club at Michigan State University.
I'm excited about the future, as I see myself stepping into the world of advertising, armed with creativity and a deep understanding of management strategies. Together, let's create campaigns that captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact."

Volunteer Work 24’
Summer of '24, I turned down an internship that I believed was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity… to grow as an artist. I felt that the only way I could truly grow was by doing what I set out to do with my creativity: help people. So, in addition to my regular administrative job, I dedicated my summer to reaching out to local businesses and startups to offer assistance with advertising and marketing. The only payment I asked for in return was to be able to use my work in my portfolio. Here are the cases I worked on…

3. Cat Cafe
I recently consulted with Paula Crow, the Social Media Manager for the Cat Café in Lansing, to enhance our social media strategies and engagement practices. Paula shared several innovative ideas that I decided to implement:
Contests: We launched fun and engaging contests like a "Halloween Costume" contest and a "Fattest Cat Contest." These contests have been a hit, driving significant engagement and participation from our followers.
Match Cats with Drinks: Each week, we now highlight a new cat and match it with a specific drink from our menu. This not only promotes our cats for adoption but also boosts our café's unique offerings.
Speed Friend Dating: At the beginning of the new semester, we introduced speed friend dating events. These events have been a great success, helping students and community members make new connections in a fun and relaxed environment.
Study Hours: We designated specific study hours where people can come solely to study. This quiet and peaceful time has attracted many students looking for a comfortable place to focus on their work.
Where Are They Now: We started connecting with past buyers of our cats and sharing "Where Are They Now" stories. These updates have been heartwarming and have helped strengthen our community by showing the lasting impact of our adoptions.
Implementing these ideas has significantly boosted our engagement and helped create a more vibrant and connected community around the Cat Café.
Made promo for new business, instated Style Guide.

9. Local Drag Star @UrbanBeat Lansing
While interviewing Tim Potter, the Co-Founder and Manager of The MSU Bike Shop, for a story, he and the other managers joked about how the bike shop's unofficial slogan was "On campus and beyond." Feeling inspired, I set out to make it the official slogan. They loved it so much that they ended up using it on all the bike shop's socials and even inside the shop itself. I liked it so much that I made it my mission to do volunteer work for people around me just to see that same smile Tim had on his face when I made his idea come to life. That started the beginning of my volunteering 24’

Award Winning Projects
Projects that have been awarded a perfect 4.0 and recognized as top of the class will be presented in the following sections of the class. These award-winning projects showcase exceptional quality and excellence
As an Advertising Management student, I view the articles I've crafted during my tenure as Editor-In-Chief of the Troy Chariot Newspaper through the lens of Content Marketing.
Each piece served as a strategic vehicle to engage and resonate with our audience. I meticulously curated content to align with our readers' interests and needs, ensuring it provided value.
This approach mirrors the essence of Content Marketing - a deliberate effort to deliver relevant, valuable information to a target audience, ultimately fostering trust and loyalty.
Through my editorial role, I honed the art of tailoring content to not only inform but also captivate, thereby driving reader engagement. This experience has been invaluable, offering me a practical understanding of how content can be wielded as a powerful tool in advertising campaigns, building brand credibility and establishing meaningful connections with consumers.
Now, I work for Infrastructure & Facilities (IPF) at MSU… In this role, I continue to apply the same principles of content marketing to engage and inform our audience. My focus is on creating compelling content that highlights the various aspects of campus life and the vital services provided by IPF. By ensuring that each piece is both informative and engaging, I aim to foster a deeper connection between the university community and IPF, enhancing our brand credibility and strengthening our relationship with our audience.

The Creative Club
In an increasingly fast-paced world, creativity often takes a backseat, perceived merely as a hobby or a stepping stone to more "practical" careers. This perspective is particularly prevalent in many Asian communities, where I come from, where artistic pursuits are undervalued. The Creative Club is my response to this narrative, born out of a deep-seated belief that every individual possesses an innate creative spark that deserves to be nurtured and celebrated.
The foundation of our club is inspired by the simplicity and joy of elementary art classes, where creativity flourished without the burden of judgment. In those early years, art was a space for exploration and expression, free from criticism. This philosophy is at the heart of our club: to create an environment where members can freely express themselves, explore their creativity, and find joy in the process of creation. Each meeting will embody this concept through positive "critiquing," learning new techniques, and engaging in hands-on creative activities.
My hope for the Creative Club is to cultivate a supportive community that fosters artistic growth and celebrates diverse cultural expressions. I envision a space where students can challenge societal misconceptions about the arts, and where creativity is respected and cherished. By embracing an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere, we aim to redefine the value of creativity, support those who pursue it passionately, and inspire a return to the creative roots that make us uniquely human.
